What the firm does during a claim
Claims advocacy is the most visible part of what a broker does. Our process — refined across ninety-three years and tens of thousands of claims — is:
- Notice of loss and intake. We gather the facts, identify the affected policies, and prepare the notice for carrier filing.
- Carrier filing on the client's behalf. We file the claim, deliver supporting documentation, and ensure the carrier acknowledges receipt within the policy's required timeframe.
- Adjuster coordination and scene documentation. We coordinate the carrier-adjuster site visit, attend it when warranted, and advise the client on disclosure and documentation.
- Coverage interpretation and dispute identification. We read the policy against the claim circumstances and identify any coverage questions early — before they become disputes.
- Settlement negotiation. We advocate the client's position in claim valuation, negotiating against the carrier's adjuster and supporting the client's evidence with documentation and industry-practice context.
- Coverage litigation coordination, when warranted. If the carrier denies a claim the client believes is covered, we coordinate with insurance-coverage attorneys to evaluate the denial, prepare a demand, and (if necessary) litigate the coverage question.
